Nikola Tesla Collection

The Nikola Tesla Folding Knife Collection pays tribute to the life’s work of one of the most important inventors of the modern era. Each color variant is limited to 86 pieces, corresponding to Tesla’s years in life.

The scales are made of solid sterling silver and incorporate key elements of his research. Tesla’s signature appears in high relief, complemented by a rotating magnetic field and the symbol for alternating current. The Tesla coil is engraved in low relief in the background. Electrical discharges stand out clearly and contrast with the subtly depicted X-ray image of Tesla’s hand. His favorite bird, almost entirely white, is rendered in white enamel.

The guilloche engraving forms the basis for the enamel application. The enamel is created from hand-ground glass and metal oxide paste, which is applied layer by layer and fired at over 1,000 degrees Celsius. Multiple grinding and firing cycles ensure that the engraved structures are completely filled and the glass-like surface emerges cleanly.

This technique requires experience, patience, and precision. Each component is reworked multiple times until structure, color, and metal harmonize perfectly.

The blade is made of Swedish Damasteel DS93X. A diamond is set into each side of the silver thumb stud.
