Features
Martensitic stainless steel: Hardness 55-57 HRC. European origin. The stainless steel used in Opinel blades is a grade optimized to guarantee both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance. The blade offers excellent sharpness and high resistance to abrasion(Wear)which allows it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before requiring re-sharpening. Stainless steel has the advantage of requiring no special maintenance under ordinary conditions of use, unlike carbon steel. Nevertheless, it can meet its limits when it is put in prolonged contact with an aggressive environment(Acid, salt water, detergent …)
Handle: The Padouk is a dense African wood with a thin grain. Its colour varies from purple-brown to pinky with purple veins. The handle is varnished to protect it from moisture and dirt
Mirror-finish blade: Double polish for a mirror effect
Safety ring: Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from the N 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open(Safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed(Safety in transport)

Caractristiques
Acier inoxydable martensitique: Duret 55-57 HRC. Origine Europe. L’acier inoxydable des lames Opinel est une nuance optimise pour garantir la fois une rsistance leve la corrosion et de hautes performances mcaniques. La lame offre un excellent tranchant et une grande rsistance l’abrasion(L’usure)qui lui permet d’affronter des contacts rguliers avec des matriaux durs, tels que la cramique, avant de ncessiter un raffutage. L’acier inoxydable prsente l’avantage de ne demander aucun entretien particulier dans des conditions d’usage ordinaire contrairement l’acier carbone. Nanmoins, il peut rencontrer ses limites lorsqu’il est mis en contact prolong avec une ambiance agressive(Acide, eau sale, agent lessiviel )
Manche: Le Padouk est un bois africain dense et au grain fin. Sa couleur varie du brun pourpre au rostre avec des veines violettes. Le manche est verni pour tre mieux protg contre l’humidit et les salissures
Lame finition poliglace(Miroir): La lame prsente une finition poliglace, le double polissage permet d’obtenir un effet miroir
Bague de Scurit: Invente en 1955 par Marcel Opinel, la bague de scurit Virobloc quipe tous les couteaux fermants partir du N06. Dcoup dans de l’acier inoxydable, le Virobloc est constitu de deux parties: Une partie fixe et une partie coulissante. En plus du blocage de la lame en position ouverte(Scurit d’utilisation), il est dsormais possible de verrouiller la lame en position ferme(Scurit de transport)
